Quote I’ve been thinking about:

“Don’t ever save anything for a special occasion. Being alive is the special occasion.”

Mary Engelbreit

Podcast I listened to:

The Joe Rogan Experience #2422 - Jensen Huang

Jensen Huang is the founder, president, and CEO of NVIDIA, the most valuable company in the world by market capitalisation at $4.5 trillion.

This was an awesome discussion that really humanised one of the most influential entrepreneurs of our time.

Great chat.

Listen on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or YouTube.

Mental Model I’ve been thinking about:

Do Things Well

"Whatever you're doing, do it well.

If you're writing a thank you note, take an extra minute to mention something beyond the typical thank you.

If you're exercising, do each set as well as you can.

If you're in conversation, really listen and don't just wait for your turn to talk.

Having high standards adds up.

You can nearly always find an extra minute to do it better.

And most important[ly], you prove to yourself that you're the type of person who does things well."

This is incredibly powerful and I get a feeling that it’s even more important to keep in mind during this time of the year when things can feel a little bit hectic.

Take an extra minute to do it better.

You just never know the difference it could make to you or to someone else.

Interesting Phenomenon I came across:

AI Music Is Taking Over

“Around 50,000 fully AI-generated tracks are uploaded to music streaming platforms every day, accounting for 34% of all daily uploads, according to streaming platform Deezer.

That proportion has more than tripled since January, when AI-generated tracks made up just 10% of uploads.

The surge isn't driven by creativity but by profit, with roughly 70% of these tracks designed to game the system and siphon money from royalty pools through automated bot streams.

When 9,000 people were asked to identify whether tracks were AI-generated or human-made, the platform found that 97% couldn't tell the difference.

An AI-generated country track is currently sitting at number one on the US Billboard chart of digital sales.

As the music industry grapples with this shift, experts warn the technology threatens to fundamentally reshape how artists earn income.”
