Quote I’ve been thinking about:
“We cannot choose our external circumstances, but we can always choose how we respond to them.”
Podcast I listened to:
The Joe Rogan Experience #2406 - Russell Crowe
Such a simply awesome podcast between two incredibly fascinating guys.
Test cricket, referee bias in sports, gambling, balancing freedom and responsibility, managing a busy film schedule, the impact of war on generations, ANZAC Day, the desensitisation of social media, education on substance use, the impact of streaming on the entertainment industry, feral cats and cane toads in Australia, farm life, politics, health.
A privilege to listen to.
Listen on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or YouTube.

Article I read:
The Conversations You’re Avoiding Are the Ones You Need Most
A really useful, practical guide on how to tackle a conversation that you’ve been avoiding.
We’ve all been there.
Tough conversation, avoid having it, the avoidance spreads and spills into other aspects of our lives so we role play the conversation in the hope of gaining more power over it, only for that process to curtail our efforts even further…
So, what shall we do in these scenarios?
Accept that you’re never going to be ready
Keep it simple
Accept that it might go badly
You can’t control the outcome
Do it sooner rather than later

A Simple Way To Learn More About The World
As humanity’s adoption of artificial intelligence continues at break-neck pace, much of the concern amongst the working members of society has been that they will ultimately lose their jobs because of AI.
But in an interesting turn of events, employees are now being fired for not using AI…
Some noteworthy insights courtesy of Monday.com’s newsletter:
Accenture CEO Julie Sweet recently announced the firm is "exiting" employees who aren't getting the hang of using AI, despite training 70% of its 779,000 employees in the technology.
At IgniteTech, leaders required staff to devote 20% of their workweek to experimenting with AI, then they used ChatGPT to rank employees and cut the lowest performers.
LinkedIn job postings requiring AI literacy skills have expanded by 70% in the 12 months ended in July, reflecting how critical the technology has become to remaining employed.
