Quote, Podcast, Video, Question, Tweet.
Good morning everyone,
Hope you’re having a great week!
Let’s jump in.

#093 at a Glance:
Quote: Where creativity comes from.
Podcast: Mark Bouris x Arthur Laundy.
Video: How to Start a Speech.
Question: Your Preparation & God’s Timing.
Tweet: Competition vs self-improvement.
Quote I’ve been thinking about:
“Creativity often comes when you take an idea from its original context and you move it somewhere else.”
Podcast I listened to:
Straight Talk with Mark Bouris #147: Arthur Laundy
Arthur Laundy is one of Australia’s most respected publicans and business figures.
As the driving force behind Laundy Hotels, a family-owned venture, he oversees a vast portfolio of pubs, hotels, and hospitality venues across the nation.
After the tragic passing of his father in 1969, Arthur, then just 28, stepped up to lead the family pub business. What started with two venues has grown into Australia’s largest privately-owned pub group, now boasting over 90 establishments—a testament to his vision and determination.
Undoubtedly my favourite Straight Talk episode of 2024.
Listen on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or YouTube.
[Podcast Length: 1 hour 22 minutes]
Video I watched:
How To Start A Speech by Conor Neill
One of the best YouTube videos I’ve seen in a while.
Absolutely brilliant.
It will change the way you approach every single speech and presentation from now on.
[Video Length: 8 minutes 46 seconds]
Question I’ve been thinking about:
Your Preparation & God’s Timing
“If you truly think you were ready for something, don’t you think that God would have given it to you by now?”
Still ruminating on this one.
Absolutely sent me back in my chair when I first read it.
I think what struck me most was the stark realisation that we can be actively obstructing ourselves from receiving the things that we have been praying for…
Opens up a galaxy of self-reflection and self-accountability.
Tweet I liked:
Competition vs Self-Improvement
"School, politics, sports, and games train us to compete against others. True rewards - wealth, knowledge, love, fitness, and equanimity - come from ignoring others and improving ourselves."
