Straight Talk #112 with Robert Kiyosaki
Robert Kiyosaki is an acclaimed entrepreneur, author, and investor best known for his influential book, Rich Dad Poor Dad, which emphasises financial education and wealth-building principles.
The legendary book has gone on to sell more than 40 million copies in over 100 countries worldwide.
Mark caught up with Robert while he was in Sydney for his last-ever speaking tour in Australia. They spoke about Robert's love for Australia, growing up in Hawaii, serving in Vietnam, his relationship with his poor dad, what he learned from his rich dad, achieving financial success, what made him write his legendary book, his predictions on a future recession, the possibility of WW3, how powerful the banks are, his relationship with Donald Trump, and much more.
This is up there with one of the best Straight Talks to date. Hands down.
It was quite surreal to meet Robert – he is unquestionably one of the most inspiring people that I’ve come across on my journey of self-development. Reading Rich Dad Poor Dad for the first time when I was in Year 11 in High School was the catalyst that began my journey of starting to understand how the world of wealth creation works.
Such an incredible honour and privilege.

9 Important Realisations
9 important truths from Chris Williamson – felt compelled to share:
You are not your thoughts.
Action is the antidote to anxiety.
Loneliness is a kind of tax you have to pay to atone for a certain complexity of mind.
Your weirdness is your competitive advantage.
Joy has to be found today, not tomorrow.
Never lie.
Keep promises to yourself.
Most problems are easily fixed.
You are the sky, everything else is just the weather.
Number 2 and number 7 are big ones for me at the moment.
Hack you should try:
Time How Long It Takes You To Get Distracted
In the seemingly infinite ether of productivity tips, tricks, and hacks, I think I’ve managed come across the most effective tool…
SUPER easy.
SUPER simple.
Ready?
Here it is:
Using a stopwatch, when you work, time how long it takes you to get distracted.
Every time you get off task, restart the timer.
Each time you restart, try to beat your previous time.
Tweet I liked:
Imagine never doing anything athletic just because you think you won't make it to the Olympics. That's most people's relationship to making art.
